I feel Storytelling has earned its place as the most important tradition humans can pass on. The most important reason for this is that every story contains some sort of lesson that teaches future generations!

Storytelling is a very important part of a human’s existence as it is an effective tool for teaching in a way that people can easily remember. Storytelling also helps people relate to one another no matter the age, race or gender!

Let us be real, stories teach us to love, to forgive others, to just be and to strive for better than we have. In reality, everyone has stories to tell.

Now there is an art to powerful storytelling, and it is most definitely a skill that can be developed and if used as a tool correctly storytelling can help with connecting people together.

OK now that the description of storytelling is out of the way…

Sharing family stories keeps our past alive and helps our future generations stay connected to source (family)!

What if I said that you could change a life just by sharing a story? If this is the case then what would inspire you to start telling that story to your friends and family?

I personally tell story’s all the time. I tell my kids and remind my family about how my Grandmother (or Aunt Pearl) used to make French Pancakes by the dozen and there used to be contests at the family kitchen table for whoever was visiting at the time to see how many could be eaten in one sitting. The record is 63. I tell the story of how I was with Grandma in the middle of nowhere driving on vacation when we stopped for gas…. And low and behold someone walked up and asked Aunt Pearl what she was doing there…. I tell stories of how I became a professional clown and who taught me etc etc. I could go on and on.

The point of talking to people about stories is to recall traditions and to share Life Legacy’s through story telling! Why should you share your family stories? Well to keep traditions and the like alive as a part of our family’s history.

We don’t often know or understand the value of something until it’s gone. In the instance of family stories, “too late” happens all the time, death is inevitable. If a storyteller is no longer able to tell the stories anymore to anyone who would listen then those precious gems that are their stories, are forever lost.

I have talked to many, many people during my work and adventures. I have found that most people who know their family storys are happier and more connected with their lineage and those stories are more likely to be past on to future generations!!!

Do you know when the best time is for story telling? The answer is RIGHT NOW! You never know what tomorrow brings.

Reality is, today could not exist without the influence from past generations. Humans hand down lessons and knowledge from one generation to the next. Frankly most, pride themselves on leaving a legacy of knowledge for our future generations to utilize. Our ability to learn from our family’s past decisions and to be able to then use that knowledge to give ourselves insight to our own problems gives us a huge advantage, knowledge.

Remember, everyone has stories to tell! Stories teach us to love, to forgive others, to be just and to strive for better than we have.

Peace and Happiness

I feel Storytelling has earned its place as the most important tradition humans can pass on.
