The Holidays are \u201cover\u201d, and the new year is upon us (so close!!!) I feel it is a good time to be reminded that the reasoning behind the holidays of giving to others just because and gratitude are not only amazing thoughts right now they are a most important thing to do for all of human kind!
What is gratitude?
Gratitude is more than an attitude or just a statement of thanks. There is a definition our there floating around that says gratitude is \u201ca felt sense of wonder, thankfulness and appreciation for life.\u201d This definition is pretty amazing and opens us to a plethora of opportunities to be grateful. The challenge is remembering to do it every day, especially during the tough times! I talk to people about this all the time! Gratitude for oneself, for others in your tribe, for humanity and frankly for the universe and all its offering!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here are a couple of ways to help inspire you to begin a gratitude practice. If you have one already, your ahead of the game keep it up!!!
Try Journaling \u2013 Start a gratitude journal. This can and will help you during the good and the bad times of life. Isn\u2019t it time that we all start \u201ctraining\u201d ourselves to look for the good in everything, especially right now during these crazy ass times!
Take a Walk \u2013 Go outside and take a walk. NATUREHEALS 100% of the time. As you walk from one place to another, find as many objects as possible to be grateful for. This helps increase your level of energy and happiness. It can definitely turn your \u201cfrown upside down.\u201d I always say go outside and make someone smile\u2026. This is why!!
Here are 5 reasons to start with and can inspire you to begin adding the gratitude practice into your life.
Resilience \u2013 Gratitude fosters resilience.
Relationships \u2013 Gratitude is the way to grow relationships. Expressing gratitude for each other are motivators to maintain relationships with each other.
Sleep \u2013 Gratitude before bed helps with sleep. 15 minutes of writing in a gratitude journal before sleep promotes better sleep.
Happiness \u2013 Gratitude is linked to happiness. If you need a quick way to cheer up, start listing some things you are grateful for to turn your emotions around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Save \u2013 Collect moments of gratitude in a jar. This exercise is fun to watch as the gratitude fills the jar.
