Good Morning everyone!  Let us be realistic and think about this for a minute…. But let’s start with feelings because if you’re like 98% of the people I know feelings are not something people like to sit with, and in fact, most people have been told to hide them, which of course is why I am here to tell you – it is OK to feel feelings!!!! It is ok to cry or laugh, to be angry or sad, it is even ok to be pissed off sometimes…  OK, OK, let’s dive in:

Taking the time to sit with your feelings and actually acknowledge them and by allowing the feelings to just be one with you, will save you so many upsets and worry in the future, that if you can learn to do this, you will thank yourself! A very close intimate friend of mine often says “Feel the Feels” and I believe she is onto something and something big!  Now all we as humans have to do is do this!

Reality is I am sure some of you reading this are saying – I do not have time to sit with my feelings, I need to get shit done, or who the hell has time for this feeling stuff, it really just needs to go away, or I hate having feelings and as such I am moving on… etc.

Well, I am here to tell you that it takes way more courage to sit with your feelings then to ignore them.  Allowing yourself to listen to, feel and learn from your feelings is powerful!  By putting them aside and thinking you will deal with them next week or sometime in the future just creates chaos. Why?  Because if you do not deal with them the anxiety of them just sitting there (weather you are aware of it or not), can and will cause things like sadness, health issues, upsets with others, believe me I can go on, but I bet some of you reading this can lists the side effects better than, even I can!

Not listening to your feelings when they arise no mater how bad or scary they may feel, really is the worst thing you can do for you, but confronting what is going on in real time and then moving on without baggage is the most compassionate you can be with yourself.  This is the best scenario possible don’t you think… NO Baggage.

Now let’s think about why one might hide their feelings or push them aside until “that” day when it is ok to feel them.  We are taught from a very young age to grow up, go to school, get a degree, make lots of money, get married, have kids, retire, travel, and die.  We are never taught and in fact, are actually taught, there is no time for feelings because we have to do the above steps no matter what. 

Ok, think about that for a minute… you know I am right… most people (not all and I applaud those parents, teachers and mentors who do not push this agenda) are taught to go to school to become “something” whatever that means and get on with making money, families etc.  But people, this is important to know, the connection between your mind and body and how successful you become is based on you feeling your feelings and your thoughts and tackling the road blocks that are not only in front of you but within you… because we ALL have them.  I don’t care if you are a doctor, a lawyer, a plumber, an entrepreneur, a homeless person, or a life coach, we all have road blocks in our heads and they are called feelings!

Once you start tackling your feelings, I guarantee you your emotions and health, your production and happiness and even your dreams and love of life will become clearer and easier, could you imagine that, life being clearer and easier, I’ll take that any day of the week and twice on Sundays for sure!

But wait there is more, you will start trusting yourself more – BONUS!!! I mean you are taught to confront things at work which makes things move smoother right.  I know, I know it might in the exact moment make it harder, but the outcome is way better right!  Then why do you not do it when it comes to your feelings.   When you allow yourself to just confront the feelings as they arise in the moment (ok maybe once you get out of the store and into your car because you don’t want everyone seeing you burst out into a full on water fest I get that) then you will be able to start removing road blocks, strengthening affirmations and knowing 200% that you got whatever life throws at you, because you are AWESOME! This is growth people and it is growth of oneself, and it is the only way to reach YOUR happiness your way.  Really what else is there?

Well…. There is this thing that is called PEACE from within!  Peace does start within oneself and frankly you can not be the BEST version of YOU without it!

Remember when I talked about chaos being created by not handling your feelings… well we as humans also see this when Peace is not present in our daily lives like our work environment, our home interactions with family, even in our surroundings within the community or as humans.

Instinctively we want to fix situations from chaos to peace, but yet, if we cannot transform things, we feel disappointed and then eventually we stop trying because we feel defeated, despite our best efforts to bring peace.   

But I have this theory and maybe some of you reading this can test this out for me.  I feel that if one cannot feel their own feelings in the moment and sit with them to understand them, then one cannot bring peace to others or another space for there is no understanding there either…  Can you relate to this at all?

I mean we all know (well if you don’t yet know please reread the beginning of this blog and start to implement sitting with your feelings) that PEACE starts within our own heart and thoughts, not from anywhere else and until you BELIEVE that and can make that theory your own, you can not and will not be able to make peace anywhere else in your life.  I mean think about that.  Once you find it from within then you can and will be able to share with others in a plethora of ways and I promise, it is worth the time you take to learn this concept in gold!

We all have the ability and are fully capable of listening to our feelings, confronting them and them making peace with them, and once you do, you will start to grow as the EMPOWERED amazing person that you are because you choose to sit with, confront and create PEACE and HAPPINESS from within, to then share with others.

And that my friends is called EMPOWERMENT OF SELF, with emotions and confronting and self-growth all rolled up into one thing… YOU!
