Are you ready to be present in your life!
I have been blogging about this a lot lately, coming from all different angles I know, but I think it is so important that I’m here doing it again!!
In a time where we all have routines and schedules on how to get everything done, when we have to get it done by, and the steps needing to be followed precisely in order to get an end product, we rarely if ever have the time to deviate from anything in order to fit in self-care these days. Come on you all know what I am saying has some truth to it!
We are taught from an early age to have routines for almost everything we do in our daily lives. We get up at a certain time, brush our teeth, get dressed, eat, pack our lunches (or not), drink coffee or tea, makes calls etc. all in order to just get started. Then we move into our daily routines of grocery shopping, dropping kids off, going to work, picking up kids, making dinner (or not), homework, tv, hot chocolate (checking to see if you are listening) etc. You may have a different routine than I or your neighbor, but you have them just the same, think about it you will agree with me on that one.
But here is the kicker you all…. It is amazing how many people forget to create a routine for their own personal self-care. Yea, Yea, we ensure others get it, good food, sleep, exercise etc. but we forget about ourselves. Crazy to know that but it is true. We may get all our meetings, and appointments done but the real self-care takes the back seat because reality is self-care does not pay the bills, or get the food on the table… Are you seeing where this is going?
If your like so many others by the way, you might even wonder how people actually make time to meditate or journal or do anything that is solely for the purpose of self-care! But luckily, I am here to tell you that it is not only possible it is guaranteed that there is enough time for this if you decide to do it.
Now I say start out slow and make it part of your daily routine. Force yourself to take 10-20 minutes for meditating with your eyes closed and some spiritual music going, or you may choose to write in a journal but these activities actually allows you to stay calm and focused and in the present so you can be more productive throughout the day. I mean writing in your journal has a tendency to allow you to stay in touch with yourself so that you are aware of how you are feeling right now in the present moment.
Having a routine for self-care daily lets you feed your soul… it helps ground you in your life and lets you get more done throughout the day!
Being present lets you experience every single minute in your life!
Listen it is easy to move through your life without being present but Why would you want to unless you are actively choosing to non-confront things going on within your world.
