What Will Your Word for the New Year Be?

Can you feel it? The energy in the air as we move closer to the start of a brand-new year. There’s something magical about this time of year!  It’s a mix of excitement, nostalgia, and a sprinkle of hope for what’s to come, with the hopes of leaving the yucky part of the past year behind and carry forward all the amazing things that occurred of the past year. While most people are busy making resolutions or creating grand plans, I’ve been doing something a little different: starting to entertain the idea of my “word” for the new year. This is the time to start thingking about how to Ignite your Legacy Life in the New Year.

No answers yet, though! Nope, this isn’t the time to decide. This is just the time to plant the seed.

Each year, I choose a word that becomes my anchor, my guiding light, and my focus for the next 365 days. But this time, I’m changing things up. Instead of rushing to name my word in the final days of December (and possibly second-guessing it by mid-January), I’m slowing down. I’m letting the idea simmer, taking time to imagine and dream, and gently inviting inspiration to show up when it’s ready.

Think of it as the planning part of a trip you have been wanting to go on for a long long time… or a opening to a symphony—a soft, anticipatory moment before the melody begins. This pause is where the magic happens, where the possibilities feel endless, and where we get to dream without limits. Or going out into the Forest for some Forest Bathing and just stopping to listen. https://igniteyourlegacylife.podia.com/

So, here’s the invitation: start dreaming, imagining, and maybe even scheming just a little. Picture the life you want to create in the coming year. Feel it. Play with it. But don’t decide yet. We have 14 whole days before the new year begins—plenty of time to let the process unfold.

This isn’t about answers or conclusions. It’s about opening yourself up to the idea that your “word” will come to you when the time is right. No pressure, no overthinking—just planting the seed and seeing where it grows.

So, what could your word be? Something bold and adventurous? Something soft and nurturing? Something completely unexpected? Don’t decide. Not yet. Just start the process. Remember think about this phrase “This is the time to start thingking about how to Ignite your Legacy Life in the New Year.”

Over the next two weeks, I’ll be doing the same—letting my mind wander, my heart lead, and my dreams take shape. Together, we’ll set the stage for a year of intention, growth, and alignment with who we truly are.

Stay tuned for the next blog, where we’ll talk about New Year’s beginnings, dreams in action, and the beauty of living your legacy life. But for now, keep imagining, keep wondering, and keep that door to possibility wide open.

The best is yet to come.
