Do you ever find that when your life is full and so busy that you forget to take time for meditation, nature, and self-care? Well, I know I do so I bet some of you out there do too!
It is quite ironical actually, because for the most part and on a basic level we all know to some degree or another that self-care and nature is what we need to keep going at the pace we are going. However, it is so easy and probable that when we all get busy (including me) the first thing that tends to get put on the back burner is quiet time, meditation, yoga (or yoga training in my case), self-care and well frankly good habits.
Let’s think about this for a minute. We all get busy in life (for g-d sakes who doesn’t), between the kids, work, repairs (house, cars etc.), taking care of friends, business clients, our dogs, cats, horses, goats, plants, floors, dishes etc… it only makes sense that our self-care gets put at the bottom of the list, and if any of you are like me that list is so long that if I don’t make self-care and nature a priority it might be September of 2025 before I get to it….
Here is reality and I mean this is really IMPORTANT, when we get busy, we MUST remember that self-care is not to be forgotten or pushed to the side.
I would bet to say that most of us (Yep that means you and I for that matter) function much better when we take some time for self-care even if that means quiet time, meditation, yoga, reading, getting outside to hike or walk or sight see or frankly just sit with our feet in the grass, this my friends is all part of self-care and grounding yourself!
The more we have to do in our daily lives the more we need that little bit of time for regrouping and healing, because it will help us function better to take on the “daily tasks” that make us so busy… kids, work, animals, coworkers, family, emergencies, etc.
Let me say it again… LOL By taking the time for self-care even if that means quiet time, meditation, yoga, reading, getting outside to hike or walk or sight see or frankly just sitting with your feet in the grass you are giving yourself,
the reboot you need to get through your day with successful feelings and happiness and without regret and being anxious that it’s just too overwhelming!
If you were to ask me, I might even say that we should all steadily increase our self-care time by at least 20 minutes a day because then we call all be that much more productive. I know some of you reading this might say if I add self-care during the day, I take away from the time I have to get things done and frankly that just is not possible. I call bs yup I said it and I am sticking to it for I know with 100% certainty this works and it will work for you to know matter who you are, what your schedule looks like, how many other counts on you or frankly how much you count on yourself (because in the end it is you after all who makes you work and be happy!)
The key here I am trying to say is that by convincing yourself that spending this time on you can and is important enough to just do it, kind of like eating or brushing your teeth, just opening your eyes in the morning!
So, my challenge for you is to start creating some time during the day to create a few minutes for your self-care. Start out with a 10-minute meditation, or 10 minutes of reading, do it in the morning or break it up through out the day but do it! Reality is when you start from a place of calmness and centeredness, you will be more effective in handling your daily tasks I promise.
Peace and Happiness
