Hey guys let’s talk numbers…. Oh, and maybe sit down for this one…  According to at least one study at the University of Georgia, nearly 50 percent of every single person who began an exercise program dropped out within the first 6 months.

So, let’s look at the key question, “Why?”  What is it about sticking with a fitness routine that causes so many people to run away fast from their program.

The answer my friends is Motivation.  Perhaps people just don’t want health and fitness badly enough, because reality is, we all know if we as humans want something bad enough, we’ll do everything we can to get it.

So, while reading this… Start your own challenge… find out what motivates you to get serious about fitness and stick with it.

The time is now to boost your Motivation

Whether your motivation is spending money to push you out of your comfort zone and into a commitment then cool do it!

Maybe you have recently been told by your doctor that you are at risk for a medical emergency and so now you are ready to fight back. Great good Motivation even if your forced, its good Motivation!

But here is the KEY point…  You definitely DO NOT have to be part of the 50 percent who quit.  If you can find your MOTIVATION and stay committed to yourself, yes yourself, as this is for you, after all, then you can and will finish strong.

So, I guess REALITY IS… it is all about finding what motivates you personally.

Here are some possible motivators for you.

  • Do it to relieve stress. Really here is the truth… Exercising really does cause changes in your brain and nervous system and Body, that actually really does result in calmness and happiness.  In fact, exercise will make you feel so good (well after the initial shock) that you will crave it!
  • Do it for your health. Whether you want to hear it or not… exercise and good healthy eating are the two best things you can do for you and your health. Exercising will help you develop a strong, healthy heart, keep a sharp mind and maybe even avoid many of the common ailments that come with aging.  But the key to a healthy life is exercise and eating well.
  • Do it stay strong. There is no better insurance policy  than to bend over and pick up something that is heavy and could cause you problems, only to find out that it is easy and very confrontable!  Weight training can and will help you with this!  Oh, Should I also remind you that being strong helps with other age-related problems like falls or keeping you stable so that doesn’t happen!
  • Do it to look better. Yes, I know I know I ALWAYS preach looks are not everything, but most humans care how they look. So as long as we agree that it is not all physical, then I too will admit that a strong and healthy person just looks good and I guess reality is if you feel you look good then your confidence changes as you continue your Fitness Program, not to mention that you will become more energetic and confident because, yes  you will be more energetic and confident!
