Have you ever heard of this coined term – Nature Deficit Disorder? To be honest I don’t think it’s an official thing, maybe it is, but I do know it is real!!!  I mean how many of you reading this allow your kids to spend hours and hours outside until the streetlights come on or how many of you are actually outside in nature daily hiking or soaking up the sun?

As cool gadgets and tech stuff take over our daily lives, cities are growing super-fast, and we’re using up a lot of nature to get the stuff we need. Things like big cities spreading out, huge farms, and internet on the go are making us kind of forget about nature. We used to be all about living with nature, not just using it like we do now.

Our lack of chill time with nature has caused this thing called Nature Deficit Disorder. It’s a big deal for everyone, but especially for kids who are growing up. Being buddies with nature is super important for our minds and bodies. Without it, we end up dealing with all sorts of issues. Even though we’re rocking cool tech, we still need nature for the basics like food, water, air, and more. It’s like we’re meant to be nature pals, you know.  I mean nature gives us the ability to live, ie standing on the ground, breathing the fresh air or eating any food for goodness sakes.

It seems a bit gloomy, but guess what? There’s hope, and the fixes are actually pretty easy. First off, we’ve gotta admit that there’s a problem as a team. We need to get that being out of sync with nature isn’t cool – it hurts us, and nature needs us to be tight with it so it can keep rocking. If we lose our nature vibe, we’re missing out on the awesome beauty that makes Earth our rad home. We can’t let the next generation grow up without digging the natural world. The secret sauce? Connection! Let’s keep Earth awesome together.
